Problems of IDPs residing at “Shafag” sanatorium will be solved

On February 3, deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee on deals of Refugees and IDPs, Chairman of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov met with IDPs residing at “Shafag “ sanatorium located in Sarigaya area, Binagadi district and was interested in their living conditions. 62 families from Lachin, 18 from Shusha, 3 from Zangilan, 3 from Aghdam, 2 from Fuzuli region resided in the sanatorium. In general, 297 IDPs resided in the sanatorium. Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov has been to the flats of the families residing here, interested in their problems, gave instructions to the representatives of relevant structures related to the solution of this problem. IDPs said that they had ever been surrounded by the attention and care of our government after leaving their lands. They highly appreciated the Decree signed by the President Ilham Aliyev on the determination of single monthly allowance for IDPS and persons equated to them and expressed that IDPs always supported the President of the country. IDPs believed that their occupied lands would be liberated in a short period under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev. They expressed their confidence about problems on electricity, water and gas supply would be solved in a short period. Deputy Minister Ali Hasanov gave instructions to the deputies Chairman of “Azerishig” OJSC, “Azersu” OJSC and “Azerigas” Production Unity attending the meeting, related to the solution of problems mentioned by IDPs. Ali Hasanov has noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan always pays special attention to solve the problems of IDPs, gives relevant instructions to improve their living conditions. Officials are the employees of people and they carry out the instructions of the President. IDPs also always render our state, state system service, support the policy pursued by our President. Giving an interview to journalists after the meeting, Chairman of Committee said that a decision was made on the resettlement of IDPs from the buildings in breakdown condition as the President Ilham Aliyev stated in the conference dedicated to the results of the third year of the execution of State Program on socio-economic development of regions in the years between 2014and 2018. Some funds have already been allocated, project works were begun. Initially it is intended to resettle 260 internally displaced families resided in the “Energetic” boarding house which is in the poorest conditions in the territory of Khazar district of Baku city and in unfinished nine-storey building which is in danger of destruction located at 20A, Ganja Avenue, Khatai district. Stating that areas have already been chosen for construction, Chairman of the Committee has said that it is intended to construct five-storey 50-flat building in free lands in the territory of 450 family settlements built near Ramana settlement of Sabunchu district of Baku city, a five-storey 50-flat building in free land in the territory of 760-family residential area near Masazir settlement of Absheron district, 2 five-storey 80-flat buildings. Designing works related to these four buildings were commenced. The projects will be executed in a short period and the construction of buildings will start. Saying many applications were received from “Shafag” sanatorium, Ali Hasanov noted: “I came here and got acquainted with the situation in place. As you see, the situation is so bad. We wanted to carry out certain repair works permanently. However it is impossible to carry our repair works. We will carry out repair works in separate houses around the sanatorium and improve the conditions as much as possible, if necessary. But as a whole I will report the conditions of the sanatorium to the management. A decision will be taken and we will immediately fulfill the decision.”
